Gulf Coast Assistance pledge may get a Schrade (old Schrade - USA made - not China made) knife for absolutely free.
Even shipping will be at no cost!!

There are 3 Schrade Old Timer 8OT and 3 Schrade Uncle Henry 897UH knives going to the top pledges to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army.

Pledge totals are now at $435.00 - Great support by Blade Forum members and guests.

Don't take it as offensive. It is more a "good order/purpose of site" type
thing. I am sure everything will be fine. But check out Blade Forums Service
and Support area, Spark (the owner) speaks about whether auctions are
permissable.
 
I have conferred with my fellow mods and it has been determined that since no money is being given to Delander this giveaway is allowed. :D

I am also moving this to the Blade Discussion Forum as it will garner more attention in that forum.

Thank you - I was remiss in not thinking that this may have been contrary to the board rules. Your support and the support of all the members and guests of Blade Forums bespeaks tonnes (that's metric for tons!!) about this board and those who frequent it, as does the most generous outpouring of support for those unfortunate enought to have been touched by Katrina.
 
I also applaud the support of the members, owners and administrators for this relief effort. When the first six knives have been successfully donated to the highest bidders and their donations (sent directly to the NGO relief agencies) has been sent (honor system here!), another selection will be donated and place up for donation. Once again, this lot will be Schrades, and a surprise addition attractive to all collectors. I'm not going to come out and say that it is the "Sand Bar Knife", but......

I would not use the word "auction". I would use "donations" instead as to avoid confusion because this is not an auction. Correct?

This is not an auction at all.
The knives are being offered to encourage donations to the Red Cross and/or Salvation Army Gulf Coast Assistance.
The highest three donations directed under the Old Timer banner will receive absolutely free (no shipping charges or any other charges unless the country of the recipient charges a fee) a New In Box (NIB) Old Timer model 8OT, and the highest three donations directed under the Uncle Henry banner will receive absolutely free (no shipping charges or any other charges unless the country of the recipient charges a fee) a New In Box (NIB) Uncle Henry model 897UH.
These are pre-2004 shutdown Schrade knives, made in USA.
 
I think BTTT'ing this thread more than once a day is a bit excessive. Let the members decide for themselves if they want to be a part of your giveaway. Please don't force it upon them.
