I have been shooting since I was little but just recently starting owning my own, inheriting a few and purchasing new. I figure I need to clean the old ones, re-lubricate them, and protect the metal on both old and new. So what do you gun owners use? Is there an all in one product? Already available I have WD30, 3-in1 oil, Diawa reel oil, and Tri-flow bike oil. I wager there are firearm specific products on the market, what are the best or what works for you guys? Tight budget and all, want to make sure to spent my loot wisely.

Cheers,

Break free CLP is pretty popular. You can get it at Walmart, and a lot of other places.

I prefer Weapon Shield myself. I clean with Hoppe's #9 first though too.

I've completely switched over to the Slip2000 line of products. Their lubricants are fantastic, particularly the Extreme Weapons Lubricant. Their cleaning products are equally fantastic - water soluble, pleasant smelling and very effective (725 Cleaner/Degreaser and Carbon Cutter).

Pick one. Anyone except WD-40.

Break Free CLP , Tri-Flow, Slip 2000 and Slip 2000 EWL, Tetra, Eezox. They all claim to be the best. They are all good.

Slip ewl lube my all time fav
Lube and I really like their carbon cleaner does a good job on mildly coppered and leaded up and barrels but u have to follow instrucions. There grease is good to go 2 . Carbon cleaner has a good smell and envirmonetaly safe product I think everything is except for the ammonia based copper cleaner. I'm still well stocked up on some other stuff and haven't even needed to use that yet for
Getting leaded up barrels cleaned the carbon remover has done it all. I was cleaning up to 20 plus m4's at a time for over the last 2 years. I used everything from the old mil issue stuff pre breakfree that's what they gave me or i had to use my own stuff. The old stuff sucks and stinks. I used my
Breakfree clp (good product) to about 10 other products i had aquired that at one time that were supposed to be the latest And greatest.my preference was the slip products and they were definitely superior even to my old stand by breakfree clp that I have bee using since the late 80's after using it i'n mil. Ihave also heard good things about weaponshield from people I trust. Hope that helps.

I use Hoppes #9 to clean and RemOil to lube. Both easily and cheaply found at just about any sporting goods store.

You might also invest in one of those silicon impregnated cloths for wipe-downs. Nice cheap and easy way to keep fingerprints off your guns after casual handling.

I use Tri Flow on my 11-87.

+1:thumbup:, been using it for years. I have both the spray (for home) and the small bottle (that I take to the field with me). It holds up pretty good up here in Alaska w/o spending a bunch of money on so called speciality oils. Wally-World and most places carry it. Trick is DON'T clean and wipe the gun down, then store it for 9 months. I inspect my stuff on a monthly basis. You check the fluids in your car don't you? It's called maintenance Brother, a must. I have knives that cost $1500.00 I also use Tri-Flow on.

Good luck at what you choose to buy and do, and just remember MAINTENACE is always key!!!

Hoppes #9 for cleaning although IMO the cleaning solvent (Otis ultra bore) that came with the Otis kit I got a couple weeks ago works better than anything else I have used.
I also use BC gun scrubber, works great for tight spaces but watch not to get it on plastic or wood.
As for lube I use only Militec-1.
