Birmingham, Ala. had a gun/knife show yesterday. son called and invited me to it knowing my love of knives and even suggested i take some of mine along to trade. couldn't decide on which ones to part with so went just to see what was available. lots of Case's, and other knives. and saw one and i do mean one Schrade. it was a Mac knife in tin box case with cardboard cover for $40, which is not a bad price, just not that interested in commercial knives. the point being only ONE Schrade. i have read all these stories bout seeing good ones at shows and was kinda looking forward to seeing some not really looking to buy since i recently went crazy on the bay. darn.

Sorry to hear that you found no Schrades. I live in New England and there are just not many shows at all. I went to one last June in Connecticut and same there. Case everywhere and all the rest were custom. Don't get me wrong, some BEAUTIFUL custom knives but I was looking for Schrades.

Howie,
Have you checked out the Northeast Cutlery Collectors Association
Arthur Green is the current president and a Schrade collector.
They meet in Marlboro and Conn. Not a huge meeting but I found them friendly and there were a bunch of schradeaholic's there.

Larry - VERY GOOD info!!

I'll look these folks up - Schradeaholic's you say - Right up my alley.
Marlboro is an hours ride for me but sounds worth the drive.

I also plan a 3-day weekend this summer visiting the Wawarsing Historical Society and Knife Museum in eastern New York. From what I've been reading and viewing - it looks to be amazing place to spend some quality Schrade time (as long as they're not listening to the Yankees' game!!!)

Thanks Again -- Howie
