I went to a gun show this morning. I never expect to find anything (mostly Chinese junk) but as I was leaving I saw this 112 in a case. I noticed it was a 2001 (year I met my wife), nickel, and pretty well put together. The seller told me it was a SWAT conversion by Dave Reed. I'm not sure who that is, but he seems to be out of Arizona. I paid $100.00 and I really like the feel and look of it. What do you think?

PS. How can I tell if it's laminate or solid wood?

It's. got no warranty now because its been converted to auto, looks to be laminate scales.I never heard of the name, but theconversion looks well done!

There are many that convert the 110-112;s to auto.
Here in Los Angeles, the Swat team members are issued or buy Protec Autos directly from the factory.
If it works well and you are happy, that's all that really counts.

Swat = superior weapons through advanced technology, out of Phoenix, AZ.

Cool knife Aaron:thumbup:. I asked Leroy about where to find good Buck auto conversions and he mentioned AZ. I didn't follow thru, hoping that the buck factory will provide some day. Don't recall if Dave's name was mentioned.

I see those in Pawn shops around here. Seems like a good conversion. It's weak link is the opening spring. I've seen those fail and then it becomes a regular two hand opening knife. DM

Its interesting that Texas has rescinded the laws about carrying autos. I still don't carry one but maybe some day, when I feel like the local LEO's understand the law change.

I gauge by son in law who is one. He has no clue.
