I'm never able to find affordable things at gunshows, flea markets, or yard sales. But today we went to a local gunshow, looking for knives more than guns, and ran across this tenacious. Functions perfectly and I liked the color scheme.

Anybody else found anything good at shows lately?

I see a lot of fake Spydies at gun shows as well as on the gun auction sites. I have never seen one like that. It lacks any factory markings. That was either done after market or it isn't real in my opinion.

It's aftermarket duracoat finish like on my shotgun. Factory markings are buried under it.

Ok. I have seen Nutnfancy do some similar to that and was wondering if it was one of his. It came out looking good.

Nutnfancy? That guy is still around? I thought he was declared irrelevant years ago.

Seriously though; I'm a fan of duracoat, but not on folding knives. I don't know why, just not. I will say it looks like they did a good job, less the color choices.

Rock on!!

I'm really not sure who did it. It looks well done. And the blade is still smooth opening. Lock still fully engages and looks secure too.

The knife does look cool. I think the Tenacious is an excellent value knife. I carry mine often. Not that fond of the serrated blade.

Flea market fakes make me laugh. Some guy wanted me "believing" he had a $75 dollar CRK.

Stuff like that makes me feel bad for non-knife nuts.

DuraCoat holds well on to steal, however it has problems adhering to aluminum.

Which part is aluminum?
Nothing on the Spyderco. I just meant in general. Jeff Freeman makes a mean flipper, however he said that the DuraCoat on the aluminum handles does not work as well at holding up as the DuraCoat on the steel of the blade. I had some start chipping off. He ended up anodizing which is much more durable.

ha Girly, that is funny. They (Cab Bandit) should have used a flipper and then called it a switch blade to complete the cheesiness.
