but I found this in a sellers "junk bucket" where everything in the bucket was the same price. When I told the seller I found it in his junk bucket he gave me an injured look, letting me know it was his "value bucket".

Never carried and never unused. I don't really even want it and will never carry it, but I couldn't pass up the deal. I'll find something to do with it.

Looks like a great score to me! throw it in your car as a backup for those days you accidentally forge to pocket a knife.

It probably was his junk bucket until he figured out people would buy the stuff LOL... Change the name from "junk" to "value" and the price goes up :D

On the other hand, I can see where he might have been a little offended, cuz that certainly isn't junk :D I'm not a huge Barlow fan, but that is a nice lookin knife

My second-favorite American brand, next to U.S. Schrade. Those old Providence, RI Imperials have some of the best steel ever put into knives. You got a good one there.

Sometimes the edges need to be re-profiled, but even with that factory edge, if you put this one into your rotation, I think you'll be impressed.

Hahaha... when I find junk buckets ("value buckets")... they ain't kidding. My hands usually feel very dirty afterwards, mostly from all the rust!
But, what you got there is absolutely in minty condition... nice snag! :)

In my personal opinion, you can never have enough Imperials. I only have a couple of them but they are among my all time favorites.
Great buy.

An inexpensive USA Barlow, what's not to love. Very pristine looking too. Kind of unusual for a knife like that to have not been used, I'd think.

A team of Clydesdales would not have pulled that from my grasp. Great score.
Might I suggest a giveaway with the following rules?
All participants must dwell in the Southern Hemisphere at coordinates 34.4331° S, 150.8831° E.
Now who could that possibly be?
cheers.

That was a good one, lol! :)

You'll be very happy with the edge that knife will take if you decide to use it.

Better in your care than his " value bucket " ( I am going to be smiling for days thinking of your story ).
I have a Imperial lock back that my uncle gave me 26 years ago that I use to open mail every day.
I wouldn't part with it for anything.
I think you have a nifty knife.

Exactly. If you've never experienced Schrade/Imperial's 1095 you are in for a treat.

One more thought...
Every collection of folders needs at least one barlow and Imperial, you have both in one.

Lately I've carried a Schrade OT or Craftsman equivalent everyday so I'm familiar with the steel. Even though this Imperial isn't collectable, I'll hate putting it to a stone after it has sat unmolested since new.
