Hat's off to our own member here Mike Robuck. The title of the thread,is the title of the book he wrote. I just about read all of it,but am still at it.
This book is a great addition to a collector's arsenal of info , or it could be a great one for a first time book on knife collecting. Mike has some great info in there from his experiences & other books & collector's too. Custom Knife maker's sections Tony Bose,Rick Menefee,Todd Davison ,Ken Erickson & Ken Coats too. All contribute here.

Mike you did an excellent job with this. It is straight forward, and great info & tips.

I recommend this ,get one while you can. Great pictures too

Is there a digital version available? Not easy to get a printed copy here...but you got me interested Vince :)

Great to know about this VCM - I have several of the Gun Trader Guides, but not this one concerning knives - will look for it at B&N tonight. OH

Fausto,in an email, Mike says , "There is a Kindle version" . I do not know what that is,though.

I read the chapter on bone covers & jigging , yesterday . It was really, really good.

Thanks Vince. In addition to the custom knife makers, BF members Mick Critchlow (Wellington), Barry Wolder (1fartsmella), Charles Lamb (Chuko), John Ferguson (Chief, Charlie (Waynorth), and Kerry Hampton made invaluable contributions to this book.

It is available via Kindle, but like I mentioned to Vince, I think it would be hard to see the pictures in that version.

Looks like a fascinating read

Good value, and widely available too from the look of it, I'll definitely be buying a copy

Looks like a great book, thanks Vince. I just ordered my copy, and many thanks to Mike and all the contributors!

I will try and see if I can get one this side of the Atlantic...otherwise I will have to make do with the ebook version.
Anyway, writing a book is no easy thing, and a guide (or themed book) is even harder, so congrats to Mike :)

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a copy in the mail over the weekend, thanks Mike!
I have enjoyed the read so far. Some great text along with many nicely done pictures. Very nice paper and size.
Mike you did an outstanding job! Thank you for your contribution to the traditional knife world.

The chapter by Kerry Hampton on swedges ,is excellent

I'm going to take a look for it at Barnes and Noble stores in my area, or just go ahead and order it. I am always up for new knife book.

Vince,
I just received one in the mail, it is a must have in a collectors library.

Mike,
Thank You for all Your time to share some of Your knowledge.

I bought the kindle version, you are correct it is hard to see the pictures. It is a great read though, I recommend it.

Thanks again Vince, and thanks Ken, Tim and LastRodeo, Fausto, Robin, Jack Black, SilentHunter, Old Hunter and Barry. A lot of what I know I learned here, so this is just a chance to pass some of it along. After editing it five or six times over the course of two weeks or so, I wasn't sure I knew anything at the end.

It is a good read and valuable resource for any serious knife collector. I was honored to have some of my collection of MOP knives included.
Charles

Thanks for the heads up, just put my order in. Should have time to read it this weekend :)

Thanks Charles. I should mention that Rick Menefee and Tony Bose also made some great knives from their respective collections available for the book.
