Any ideas what the private party retail value is on a Browning HP, 9mm, Silver Chrome?
This exact piece. Thanks!

Nice one. I sold one very similar to that one at a gun show for $550 IIRC. Yours may be in a bit better condition than mine was at the time.

I've always wanted one of these...are you selling or buying? I'm interested If selling. Condition? I have some Busse to trade.

I use to own one exactly like that one. I believe that version came out about 5yrs or so ago. I paid roughly around 450-500 for it at the time and sold it soon afterwards in favor of a FN blued version. I don't know the current value but would guess that it would be more than 500.

Excellent info, thank you!
Man, you'd think their forum would come up on a google search. I'll head over there and check it out too.
I...Er...My wife is selling :D

That's exactly right, right about what I got it for and what I was shooting (no pun intended) to get out of it.
you can always to gunbroker.com

Tried :( No models like mine. A couple similar Practical's going for similar amounts.

Thanks everyone! Much appreciated!

I have one like that made in 1982 in Belgium by FN Herstal. Does anyone know if date and location made impacts value, and if so, how?

I think it does by a considerable amount, check gunbroker.com. I think I saw a listing for that gun.

Those are red hot here in Alabama right now. I have seen six for sale in the last couple of months in the configuration pictured.

The first one, in like new condition, I bought for $650 at a Montgomery gun show. Quite a nice trigger on this one, exceptional for a Hi-Power.

The second one, showing more wear, was sold by a local gun shop (Southeastern Guns) for $600. That same shop has another one, not quite as nice as mine, for which they are asking $650.

At a Birmingham gun show a few weeks ago, I saw three, all NIB or as new, each priced at $800! I don't know if any sold for that price.

Incidently, for those in the Southeast who might be collectors, Mark's Outdoor Sports in Vestavia, Alabama has recently bought a large estate collection, and they have several very nice older Belgium Hi-Powers. I am a shooter, not a collector, so I didn't note the prices on those.

Finally, yeah I know I spend too much time hanging out at gun shops and gun shows.:D One of the upsides of being retired.

The downside? I get no vacation time or holidays.:(

Any trading selling offers belong in the exchange guys. Don't make me infract you. :)

When you get infracted by Progunner you have to get one of those humongous penecillen shots, my advice, avoid all chances of infraction at all costs!!!!! No one wants one of those needles in the hiney!

Please excuse me if somebody already mentioned this but gunbroker.com is a great site to get current gun values from also most book stores around me ie:Barnes & Nobles/Borders have gun value books, I even think there might be a Kelly blue book on it so stop by one of them look it up, look at some gun and knife mags for free while your there and your good to go
