Hello everyone,
I noticed there is some gunk that might be clay inside the carved area of the Sword of Shiva and inside the cho of the UBBB Gelbu Special that I just received. I'm hoping it's Nepal clay, which would be really cool since it would make it even more authentic. any ideas? thanks

scrape the gunk off, Lord.
Saatisal glow.

Black stuff and red stuff
Fill in the cracks.
Chopping at scrub oaks
Breaking our backs.

and so on...
 
Yes, there is rubbing compound there, but there is some darker gunk too.
(very dark brown, like wet mud)
 
Gunk? Could easily be a little extra laha which is used to secure handles. Note: these blades are forged and the result of forging some times shows as a dark almost charcoal like texture on the metal. This forging is usually removed but may still show on some areas if they don't get scraped properly. Will not hurt the khuk.
 
I had that stuff on my blade too, I think its the magic stone pollish/strop compound
