How toxic is Gunny Glide? I know some people don't care about that but the way I see it, you spend a lot of time with your knife. It spends all day in your pocket, except for when you are handling it. If there are non-toxic products that work well, why bother with the toxic stuff?
I've been using Lubriplate's FMO Gun Oil for many years. It was originally designed for kitchen machinery and is explicitly non-toxic. I first got turned on to it by this article from over a decade ago. (It went by a different name then and was a pain to get.) After good experiences with it in guns, I eventually started using it on knives. I've used it on over fifty knives now and I've never looked back.
