Those with experience in these knives which do you prefer and why? (providing the steel is the same in both models of coarse)

I am looking for a blade under the 4 inch mark and from what I have gathered the GH is marginally longer than the MA. Seems to be the same with thickness. How do the handles match up with extended use? Also It looks like the grinds can both be the same on certain models (saber/convex?)

Well while I don’t own a mini Aurora I do have a couple Gunnys and a Gunny Hunter. First, I find both the Gunny and Gunny Hunter blade shapes work great for me I really like them about the same.

The Gunny’s have been my favorite BRK design it’s just the perfect size, shape and weight for a field carry/hunting/camping knife for me.

I prefer the Bravo 1 LT or 1.25 LT for bushcraft type stuff and just a bigger carry type blade while outdoors when needed. I’ve been carrying/using the Bravo 1 LT in cru-wear steel all hunting season it’s been a awesome blade for me cleaned several deer, pigs and used it for a lot of general task afield.

The drop point hunter is also a fantastic knife in size, weight and handling. It’s more of a hunting/field carry knife than Bushcraft/camp type knife. This design is a real winner for a hunting knife I’m not sure why I grab the Gunnys more when heading out but I do.

I have a A2 gunny hunter with full height grind, ironwood scales. Love the knife, perfect size and balance, and will do vast majority of hunting related tasks for most all game. Some like 3V or Elmax to hold an edge longer, but A2 does fine for me.

I got hooked on the gunny by watching virtuovoice @ japan on youtube. If you haven't watched some of his videos, you really should ;-)

Both are solid knives, but I would come down on the side of the Gunny, I like the handle and blade shape better.
