I am thinking about drilling out the pins on my zytel Cold Steel Gunsite and replaceing the handle with a metal-lined wood-scaled handle. I would use the zytel as a template for keeping the locking mechanism the same on the new handle. Do you think this will work, or will I end up with a $60 regret? Believe it or not, I like the blade design (it had to gorw on me), but I don't know if this project would be worth the work because of the crappy edge holding of AUS-8A. If no one thinks the project can be done in the first place, it will save me that decision I guess. PS: I am competant with my tools and pretty creative as well, in case that helps. (I'm no bladesmith though.)
