I was wondering if the bolsters on a Queen Gunstock are really a sharp as they look in photos. If you carry one of these please share your thoughts.

You could use on of these:

Knife purse:D

Actually I will use one with my first custom slippie. Ken Erickson "English Jack".

Sharp as in appealing to the senses, the visual sense ;)? The bolsters on my cocobolo gunstock are not that eye catching. Great knife, just no pop or flair. My favorite slippy right now.

As for snagging on pants, I wore mine many times in dress slacks and work khakis, no problems.

Man, I sure do like the looks of that Erickson English Jack!

I should have made that clearer. I don't have it yet:o:grumpy:, and since it is going to be a user, I'm having Ken put natural micarta on it. I just placed the order last month so I'm in the waiting pattern.

To the OP. I had a S&M Gunstock and it was a bit sharp on the pocket. One reason I sold it. Still a fine knife however.

I will use a pocket "purse" when I receive my Erickson knife to protect it.

I started to think about this a little more and wanted to apologize for misleading you folks.

I hot linked a pic from Ken's web site, and obviously was not clear. I do not own the knife yet (as you know already) but it might have looked as though I did.

I was not clear, please accept my apologies. :o

I sure hope you don't own the two knives in the first picture either! :p

I obviously did this wrong.:o I like your idea of a knife "purse" when it comes to customs (for me anyways)

I'm sure everbody (that hangs out here anyways) knows those are Blues knives.

Again sorry for being misleading.

Tarmix,

I'm just bustin' 'em and having a little fun. Trust me, you have nothing to apologize for and feel free to use any of my pix or posts anytime it helps. Now, deep breath...:p

Deep breath.... OK..... where in the H E double hockey sticks is my tin foil hat. Everyone is reading my brain waves here and I'm just a but upset.;):D

Thread drift.... well just a bit. :o:foot:

You could always do what I did. I did not care for the sharp corners on my Queen gunstock, and took it to a grinder and rounded off the corners.
