I had ordered it previous to the attacks on the US. Over the past few days obviously the arrival of my knife was not uppermost in my mind.
Today it arrived and brought my spirits up. I find it to be a wonderful knife. I've been studying knife fighting/martial arts for many years now (18 years - where does the time fly?) and can see the obvious uses. Eventually I'll get the video tapes and probably attend the classes once they arrive in New England.
Funny thing is after getting over the review and initial playing I started to think about the knife and symbolism it has to me. I purchased it to add to my self defense arsonal. Pretty potent reason given what has happened this week.
I also know that I'll forever associate this knife with the attack on America. I don't find it a bad thing. I don't want to forget.
Now if the chance to ever use it on a terrorist comes up...
