I will soon be the proud owner of a brand new Gunting (hard to find here in France), and I have one question.
Using only the clip (skunkwork sheaths unavailable here), how do you carry yours ??
IWB, in pocket...
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you contact Frank over at skunworks and see if he can get you one? Or I could even hunt one down for you and mail it out to you? They are true must have! How come they are not available in France???

Guntaholic, in fact Guntings are almost unavailable in France !!
I had the great chance to have BRAM demonstrate it on me in september 2000 at Paris knife show, but due to bad change rate between dollar and franc, I could not buy one at the moment.
Thanks for your answer and your offer.
I will try to find a wway to get a sheath.

Hello, Frederic K. If you will go back and check out my username in this forum with the search function, you will find a review that I did on the Gunting as a utility knife which led to a comment from Cougar Allen in France to the effect that, is it Nemo, yes, Nemo, was testing one at the time, and that he had found it to be a good utility folder. In any case, I found that the only pants in which the Gunting rides uncomfortably high, in other words, is too visible, are my blue jeans. For those, I have considered a holster. But the steeper slant on the pockets of my dress pants hides the horn happily, and I haven't felt the need for any such an item, even in an office of hoplophobes.

I carry mine with the clip in the frontpocket and the knife on the outside. Works great with a golf shirt worn outside the pants. The clip is positioned just right for this way of carry.

Now I´m waiting for the MBC golf shirts with a discreet logo.

Bram told me that Frank Olsen from Skunkworks makes some pocket holsters for the Gunting - and I just emailed him for one.

Looks like a good solution for concealed carry of the Gunting..I'll post here as soon as I get it.

Thanks to you all for your answers
Sal - Thank you for makng such a good work, nothing to complain about spyderco knifes since 9 years I use them. Thanks too for being "reachable" for us.

FullerH - Nemo has a completly mad friend named Fred Perrin, so I would not risk disapprouving his point of view !!! In fact, as far as I know I don't see why Gunting could not be a real utility knife.

Colinz - I carry mine on duty in a nylon sheath mad by Eagle Industries. Off duty, it depends on what I am wearing.

Blilious - I am impatient to see your post

As everybody is busy preparing for the blade show - I guess the answer to my mail will take two weeks or so..

But I did ask Bram to remind Frank my request when he meets him at the show...

Update - Frank is an upstanding gentleman and he emailed me an answer even before going to the blade...

He said that due to technical reasons - he can't scan one for me right now - but will try to have one later...

Can’t wait...

Hello everybody !

The Gunting is one of the weapon which turns into an excellent tool.
The Guntling got such a confortable handle for long and hard cutting in wood, and its sharp blade keep an incredible edge.
Also you got a little hammer which is really usefull to check if a tank is full or empty...
In the mong run, really the aggressive edge and the long and confortable handle are really a must!

cheers,
JM

PS Fred Perrin is not mad, he is completly insane !
