OK.

Would someone please explain, step by step, how you guys unlock the Gunting?

If I can figure out the deal, then the Salsa can be my left hand knife!

One handed or two? One handed youput right index on thumb hole. Push bar over with thumb. Start closing about 1cm. Switch grip so the edge is facing away from the palm. Put thumb in hole. Close rest of the way.

Two handed, push lockbar with thumb and hold blade with other hand. Clear fingers out of blade path and close blade.

Hope this helped.

I keep my grip on the knife..I squeeze the lock release open with my thumb..like a baby makes a fist..( thumb moves straight across the back of the lock release..)I shake-flick the knife a touch..the blade and choil catch on my index finger..I'm at the center of the arc so theres no pressure and its not sharp @ all..
I rotate clockwise a 1/4 turn..place my thumb in the thumb hole and in the exact opposite of a traditional Spyderco opening..I close the blade..

I keep my grip on the knife..I hold the blade with my left hand..( thumb and forefinger in the hole)I squeeze the lock open with my thumb like a baby makes a fist..I start to close the blade with my left to insure the lock is disengaged.. I rotate the knife 1/4 turn and with my fingers out of the way I close the knife with both hands..

theres two ways..
I NEVER move my index- forefinger out of it's user position..That way if I accidentally close the blade it catches on my finger in a non cutting position and I cannot cut myself..
bail that finger out and WHOA..look out..the blade can and will close on your fingers...ROFL..not a good thing..

Hope that helps..
if not check out my Gunting intro video
