Hello
I am new to the Gunting and will soon be ordering one along with the drone. What part of the blade causes the cut on the ko:eek: I am sure it is the top portion of the blade and the point. My question is the top portion of the blade a false edge or sharpened false edge? Could you also describe one of the techniques that opens the blade using the kinetic opening. I guess one way would be to push and pull across the forearm using the opposite hand to push in opposite direction. I assume this is where it got it's name from "Gunting." As in fma it is very destructive with or without a weapon. Thanks for all your input. I didn't realize the Gunting had such a following.

CPK,
Ramp causes the KO! top IS not SHARPENED,it can be sharpened, but is not really needed,I like mine just the way it is!How do you open it!! Easy ,once you become familiar with the G,you can open it on ANY part of the BG body, hit with the ramp & pull SIMPLE!! Be advised,Bram will tell you this,IT'S TOO EASY TO SLICE & DICE!! I didn't believe him,"I do now"!!Get the tapes & find out where Bram's next seminar will be held near you & GO!Great guy & Instructor, you will not be dissappointed!!As for the G becoming more popular,AMEN!!Love & carry mine everyday!!Guys at the gym warn newbes "DON'T ASK JIM,to demo his gunting"!HEE!

cpk,

People that are cut while performing a kin-op are pulling it across a body part that has a larger radius than the "lower ramp" on the "G". The tip of the blade fails to clear the body part and the tip sinks in, anchors and continues to open. Once the blade is locked, it continues to cut through the body part.

NEVER OPEN THE GUNTING ON YOUR LEG!!

Play with the drone first. Get some instruction. Live blade Kin-ops are for opening on the bad guy only LOL :D.

Hope that helps.
