Well its taking a bit..But the Gunting is finally getting written up by Police and LEO end users..
So thank you to all of you that have helped pave the way...
Especially the CSSD gang..keep up the good work...

It's going through liability studies... whats the extend of liability and is it defnseable? and in one case it's already into the Academy Phase: is it teachable in the existing programs or does it need to be modified? the Training program that is..

The CRMIPT is being written into the TSA-FAM program out @ FLETC.
I just sent parts of the curriculumn out there...to the lead instructors on base..
THe Gunting itself is now into the USBP curriculumn again out @ FLETC.

ASLET-American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers had a new products review of the Gunting, specifically the CRMIPT...they recommend it..
Police Journal et al have been very up on the use of the Gunting & its accompanying system..

S2-CIS has just added me to the staff to teach security and LEO programs edged tools and the Gunting-CRMIPT..

Greg Walker while @ SFC in Kuwait gave it a great review and endorsement.. He taught it to Special Forces from here and abroad...Thanks Greg!!

Sgt Driscoll and several others in the Corp have been showing it and teaching it to the USMC MACE program and to the USMC-MP...

Thanks to Frederic Combe, writer and LEO who has written endlessly about it and its use as an lEO tool..: there's articles in Excaliber and other magazines overseas this month thanks to Frederic...

Thanks to Ed Schempp, John Davis, Rob Patton, Rob Simonich, Mick Strider, Rob Newton, Steve Schwarzer, Bob Lum, Owen Wood & Jerry Hossom for all your suppport and belief in me...and the Gunting..
Mick thinks its cool that I get excited about slam n jam with the Gunting!

Thanks Tiny aka Steve for getting the RCMP's ) wow,,Canadian mounties!!) to play with the Gunting..

Well its off to Russia to teach Gunting to the Belarus LEO..
Then off to Israel to teach..well to teach..lets leave it @ that..

be safe
Bram

I was just @ the Pinellas County Gun & knife show with Peter..Met a group of officers that were totally amazed by the Gunting..they had NEVER seen one before...
Peter and I had a good time demoing it..
I hope that a few of you LEO's I've trained will comment on this thread.

be safe
Bram

I'm surprised that none of the current Spyderco ads have anything on the "G". All of the LEO trade magazines have ads from the competition. IMHO, there is no better "system" of edged tool usage than Spyderco MBC and the Gunting. Once officers are exposed to the system, they understand how simple it is and how it increases their safety on the job. Sadly, most LEO's and even Law Enforcement distributors have never even seen a "G" or know what it's about.

The CRIMPT is an EDC for myself and a couple of co-workers on the job. It is the ultimate folding pocket stick/search tool. A few Mounties are carrying it, and I think we may even have a closed MBC training session for the RCMP in July when Bram returns to Vancouver. The live "G" is an EDC for many off duty officers as well.

In times where training budgets are tight, conceptual training like Spyderco MBC provides great "Bang for the Buck". Not only are edged weapons probably the greatest threat to the average patrol officer, but the skills translate easily to empty hand control, baton work and even firearms usage. Spyderco can really have a hand in promoting officer safety by presenting these benefits to the LEO community.

Why doesn't Spyderco blaze the trail like they have always done in the past by getting the word out? I'd love to see a Gunting/CRIMPT on every LEO duty belt.

Bram, I have seen and held the Gunting. It not only looks tough, it is tough.

I learnt that the Gunting offers numerous tactical advantages. Well done, Bram.

There's a whole troop of us who love and use the Gunting everyday. The Vancouver area has almost become "Gunting City".

We think its great because we've tried and used the system and it works.

It works within my own boundaries and knowledge of SD and martial arts. Every G user has their own flavour.

After attending a recent Gunting seminar with Bram, I agree that the Gunting is an excellent system for law enforcement. I had, of course, already decided it was good for me as an individual armed citizen, and intend to pursue more training as time and budget permit. If I can someday attain instructor status, perhaps I can obtain the blessing of the chief for a "pilot project" which of course must cost the city zero dollars. Meanwhile, I put a "Hindi Cap" on my ASP to see if it can be used somewhat like the ramp on the Gunting for some of Bram's techniques. I will need to work with this. I do wish there was a Gunting instructor within a day trip's distance of the Houston/Harris County area.

That's great news Bram and a well deserved recognition. Congratulations and good luck!

Sal, this is why the Gunting Trainer MUST stay in the product line, even if sales are slow. Glock makes training pistols, for example, which are not widely marketed, but are in the product line. BTW, the Gunting Trainer should me advertised more, IMHO.

I have been showing the Gunting to as many security people and LEO's as I can here Down Under and so far the response has been very positive. When they get their hands on the G, couple of simple explanations of how to use it and they're right into it

The CRMIPT will overtake the ASP baton as the impact/control device of choice for LE IF it gets into the right hands and before the right eyes. I was an LE DT insructor for 10 years of my LE career. Nothing I have ever dealt with is as effective or as versatile as the CRMIPT for playing up and down the force continuum. I am expecting some big inroads here in my state in the next year. Once it is accepted by even one state training commission, it will be all over the US (and the world) in a matter of three years. It is a watershed tool which will change LE when it gets into the hands of the working cops. IMHO the CRMIPT is:
-More effective then a baton
Can't close inside of its range
Faster to deploy
More verstile & defensable in usage
More discreet
Much better for gun retention
Can be used for handcuffing & searching

-More effective then OC
Does not rely on variable individual response
Not affected by weather
Not detrimental to the user or other officers

-More effective then air taser
Does not kill suspect unintentionally
Has more then one "shot"
Not dependent on ranged attack
Not negated by fast moving suspect
Cannot be mistaken for firearm

If you are an LEO you need to check this tool out. Keep up the good work Bram.
