Hi guys,
I'm new here and this is my first post - so please be gentle. I'm an avid knife collector, but passed my collection onto my brother a few years back. My only Spyderco now is a Spydercard CE that I bought 2 years ago - an awesomely useful little knife and always on me (as long as I carry my wallet). I then also have a Buck Metro on my keys for odds and ends. I'm more keen on the practical side now and want to get into using knives for SD - probably more out of interest than neccessity. I'm from New Zealand, so not much going here in terms of knife SD classes, so thought I'd get a Gunting and the videos and see how far I get....
I'm in a predicament though: I'd really like to get a plain edge Gunting (easier to keep nice and sharp), but I'd prefer the S30V blade. As far as I know, Spyderco doesn't make the PE in S30V - so I have to compromise: Do I get a PE in 440 or do I go for the 50/50 CE in S30V? Maybe you guys can help me on the right track....
Thanks and regards,
Greg
