I very much want a Gunting knife but I have been very disappointed that the Spyderco version is continuously unavailable and a release date for the updated version is just as unavailable.
Does anyone else make this knife?

Before you give up, check with Linda at Glasshartt@aol.com and www.newgraham.com . Although not a discount dealer, Nagel's Guns and Knives in San Antonio recently still had them in PE. Don't expect most cutlery stores to stock the Gunting; most of them only want to stock items that move quickly and in large quantities. Only Spyderco makes the Gunting. Another company did make the "Escalator," but it was less refined and few were made.
 
The "Escalator" was made by REKAT. Though similar looking, it's not even close to Spyderco standards.

They are frequently for sale here on the forums too. Either put in a request or just wait and see if one pops up somewhere.
 
The red training Guntings should be available. It is a good idea to start with the trainer anyway!:)
 
Knifecenter (www.knifecenter.com) has partially serrated (PS) Guntings and trainers. There were plenty available (plain edge and PS) up to a couple of months ago, but the supply seems to have dried up because Spyderco is switching steels. There are still PS versions available because they seem to be less popular than PE. But for a pure self-defense blade, it probably doesn't matter much whether the blade is PE or PS.

Definately do not give up looking. They are around. And Spyderco is going to make another batch. Patience may be the answer.
 
You can't have just the trainer! You need a matched, NIB set of the knife AND a trainer. Perhaps if you were to look in the "For Sale by Individual Production Knifes" forum, you could find such a set.

Hmmm, yes - perhaps if you were to look there right now... :D

They seem to make so many production mistakes...

It all started with the Original Military (remember guys ? with ATS-34) I was shocked to see a Spelling mistake on the pocket clip. Finish and lock were awful and again we heard something that we always here from Spyderco golden factory - We are redesigning the knife. we are redesigning the Viele, the Chinook, the Military, the cricket , the Gunting, the.... we are redesigning everything and meanwhile - you can't find this knife - so go look at those internet dealers and look here and there - meanwhile I go around I buy another Benchmade or CRKT or custom knife -

LETS ADMIT it once and for ALL !!! The Spyderco Golden Colorado factory has never been functional !!! it is packed with manufacturing problems and simply can't make enough knives fast enough for the market. they do not meet demand and are too busy redesigning - delay after delay after delay. Dealers and collectors like myself I getting fed up with this and turn to other brands that can stand behind their products and have them in stock. Luckily Spyderco still have those small workshops at Seki Japan that make most of their models - if they depended on their Golden facility they have been out of the business long ago.

Just think how BM make most (if all) of their knives in their USA facility - with too many redesigning and supply shortages.

Car? I have this Mercedes creature one month only,:) i bought from one car show in the Czech direct from Mercedes Benz, its 2 doors coupe MB CLK 320, model 2003, with tuning by Carlsson, 285kW turbo engine, separated air conditions, really nice seats in 2 color leather,GPS navigation system ,GSM phone system for call and connect to internet, 8 airbags, automatic gear-box with sequence system, i must notice, that sometime i have problem hold this creature on the road :),but, hehe its funny,this car also talk, when you have not belt, you hear some gups,computer voice, that you have not belt,and when you rode without belt, you can go only 30km/hour and computer system still scream, that you have not belt and not possible higher speed than 30km/hod.... plus next voice messages....its funny :)
I sold my Chrysler Vision, 2 months ago, its family car, 4 doors, and i run alone, so i need not car with 4 doors, plus big place for luggage ....

So you see, when you need mercedes or porsche or ferrari, or new mustang, you have not problem buy it here, but when you need buy Spyderco knife, its problem here :):):)

Ouuu, hi, dont be sad, because you sure find soon somewhere in shops your Gunting knife and your joy will bigger of it ... :)
 
Only 26 and has a set of wheels like that?
