I have been messing around with some new geometry, lately ... here is the latest version applied to my Guppy model.
The ridgeline runs diagonally down the blade and into the handle and is the thickest part of the knife at 3/16". It is beveled both toward the edge and to the spine. The spine is 1/8" at the ricasso. It also incorporates a tapered tang so the angles are all over the map. I would imagine that this is nothing "new" but I don't see it much. It would be tough to pull off with solid handle scales. The leather backed wrap I use pretty much conforms to ant shape. I hope these illustrations help explain where I was going with this...
Here is the completed knife.
Model - Guppy
5160 forged
9 1/4" OA length
4 1/2" blade
4 3/4" handle
Rough forge/etched finish
Leather backed handle, hemp wrapped, epoxy soaked.
Sheath is10oz hand stitched, distressed, with copper rivets.
Thanks for looking
