Gurkha Book

amusing quote from the above book, from the section on the Gulf War:

<quote>...At first during our Friendly Forces battle preparation the Americans had difficulty in distinguishing our Gurkhas from Egyptians as they saw similarities - short, stocky build and colour of skin. Sometimes, when our men got on the wrong road, say in the American base camp area, there were doubts, even when checking identity documents. It was only when we showed the kukri which all Gurkhas carried that the Americans were satisfied we were Gurkhas and not Egyptians...</quote>
 
I'm going to check with the book store in the little town nearest me and see if she can get some of the books like this. She ordered a book for me a few months back and had it pretty quick. Come in from Austin I suppose.:)
