The Gurkhas by Bryon Farwell

Gurkha warriors by Bob Crew

any other recomendations?

Last Christmas, my wife gave me:

Gurkhas at War
Cross, J.P. and Gurung, B.
2002, London: Greenhill Books
ISBN 185367494X

In this work, Gurkhas from WWII to present day tell their stories in their own words. Cross spent nearly 39 years of military service in Asia, the majority with the Gurkhas, and has lived in Nepal for over 20 years.

A book of unique insight, edited with respect. You can find it on Amazon.com, etc...

Also worth reading, with excellent illustrations:
The Gurkha Rifles, J.B.R. Nicholson, Men-At-Arms Series (Osprey)
The Gurkhas, Mike Chappell, Elite series (Osprey Military)

I would also recommend _Gurkhas at War_.

I have a somewhat incomplete listing of some Gurkha books, with links to places where they are available, at:

http://jnanam.net/shastra/gurkbook.html

I should probably add in some others - but the ones on that page are the ones I actually own and have read.

I actually have some other book recommendations (not on Gurkhas specifically) that I have been meaning to post on the forum here.

p.s. I notice there is an exhausting looking listing of Gurkha books at: http://www.gurkhacollection.co.uk/collection/books/books_gur.htm

BEO has listed all the books I have used in my research in the FAQ, but when someone asks for just a single source I always reccomend THE GURKHAS by Farwell. It is general information and has errors, but gives a good general view about the Gurkhas. 2 other books would be IMPERIAL WARRIORS by Gould and GORKHA by Tucker.
