Gurkha tells of citizenship joy

Thankyou Beo.

Glad he can have the care he deserves.

Its still a shame the Army conned him into giving them his VC for £500 a few years ago. He probably isnt aware that its worth around £150,000 now.

What a shamefull robbary! He should have been a wealthy man.

He really should get the best care possible... but given the state of services in Britain nowadays, one can only hope that he does not end up sadly disillusioned.

Amazing the sorts of people the bureaucrats and politicians are only too happy to let flood into Britain without any hesitation, and who they take objection to.... that commonsense (and public opinion) was finally made to prevail in this case does not alter the shame of the original decision.

I agree. I would guess they thought at 84 years old he cant even work. :(

But although our services are dimenishing rapidly you should see medical care for the ordinary man in Nepal.

Makes UK still seem a luxury.

I'm happy for Tul Bahadur Pun.
Unfortunately it is normal for veterans not to get respect or the benefits they deserve. They fight and go beyond the limits civilized people expect, and are often denied the rewards of their valor. It happens to Americans too!
