Bought this small and rather inexpensive book the other day on Evil Bay.

It was worth the money and, since I'm interested in history, interesting. It's a short history on the Gurkhas, where in Nepal, who they decended from, and how they came into being. There are several photographs within the pages, but my favorite are the wood cuts used for decoration on the end papers. There is a khuk photo which reminds me very much of the brass handled khuk Mrs. Martino uses on the red backed HI logo. Although the book is simply written, it makes no mistake in letting you know the Gurkhas are some of the baddest of the bad. After wearing a little round green beanie for Uncle Sam once upon a time, I believe I know what "bad" is. Good book....and pun intended.
