Gurkhas lose pension court battle

It's really sickening how the government can do that to our own loyal ex-soldiers, while at the same time dishing out tens or even hundreds of millions of pounds to countries (more accurately, the despots ruling countries) which are not particularly friendly, or are potentially hostile, to Britain.

is this the same government that recently released osama bin laden's close buddy on open house arrest, and pays him over a thousand quid a month because he has a 'disability' - a bad back? the same muslim cleric who was recently photographed on one of his shopping sprees carrying a six pack of 2 litre cokes in one hand, a bag of groceries in the other, and a back pack over his shoulder? the one who stops and preaches death to british soldiers to all his neighbors?

shouldn't we be proud that we treat our enemies better than our own?

we all know the answer to THAT one, but i can't find my bullpoo smilie. :)

That's a shame everybody is losing their pensions everywhere it seems.

We're going back to the 20's where old people were poor and their children had to support them.

Brings to mind a certain Robert Browning poem:

``No trifling! I can't wait, beside!
``I've promised to visit by dinner-time
``Bagdad, and accept the prime
``Of the Head-Cook's pottage, all he's rich in,
``For having left, in the Caliph's kitchen,
``Of a nest of scorpions no survivor:
``With him I proved no bargain-driver,
``With you, don't think I'll bate a stiver!
``And folks who put me in a passion
``May find me pipe after another fashion.''
