this really sucks:( i know the thread Kit tarted was just in fun and sarcastic because so many didnt seem to get what was so very simple after you explained it many times. Kit was just trying to lighten it up.

i dont remember the Jerry Hossom thread and wish i could read it now but Jerry dont strike me as the kind of guy to start trouble intentionally.

you have been the most level headed mod around here and i hate to see you give it up over simple bullsh*t, please reconsider. hey i could even be a mod here in custom and help out:D Please dont leave:(

Gus, you have more than enough reasons to come back.

First, for your friends on the forum who need you.

Second, for your friends on the forum who need you to keep me in line.

Third, for me (your friend) who relys on your guidance and wisdom. (Did I really say that? ;))

Anyway, bottom line, Tim and Jerry are right. Take your time, but come back. (Dammit)
 
Personally, I didn't think any of the "weekend threads" to Gus and Blues were "just kidding". You guys can take those smileys and stick them where the sun doesn't shine. Bottom line--you pissed Gus off and I would have been pissed too. This ain't rocket scientist stuff here. Let's get on with the program.
 
Tex has been a good cyberbud of mine for some time now and I really appreciate his support. I hope I can lend the same to him when he needs it.

Now, I'm gonna ask that we kind of drop this and move on after I give you a little bit of hope.

I just got off the phone with Gus and convinced him not to rule out coming back as moderator.

Gus' home computer is broken (lucky him) and can't get email, the forum or chat. Maybe that's best at the moment.

In any case, hopefully, given a calmer situation here, we'll have Gus back where he belongs shortly. I can't guarantee it.

I've written to Spark to advise him of what Gus told me. (With Gus' permission.)

So, that's it boys.

tex get a clue, you obviously dont know Kit or any of the guys from the chatroom if you thought his thread was serious.
 
Tim, I guess I should have bought some clues when they were on sale. I never said a word about Kit or any of your chat buds. Serious-I guess not-where is Gus? Personally, I've got better things to do than argue with people over stuff like this. Bye-Bye
 
I am Clueless (original post(s) seem to be inaccessible...??? That's a first in my memory???).

Gus has always done a great job on this forum and I would hate to see him go over a misunderstanding.

OK, that cuts it, the fun is over.
Somebody is messing with one of my favorite forums here and one of my favorite people here Gus. If he leaves, I'm going to make a list and come after all of you that caused this to happen. I'm going to hunt you don't and hurt you real bad.

Unless of course I was one of them. In that case, I'm just gonna say, "I'm sorry Gus, I'll be good and it'll never happen again. Don't go, please stay. If I got on my knees and I pleaded with you not to go, but to stay in our hearts, would you walk out the door like you did once before or would this time be different in some way? Don't go, please stay...."

(I know Blues is singing along right now ;))
 
I know I'm just the young dumb guy, but maybe Gus just needs some time away from the Moderator chair.

IMHO most of the stuff here has been in fun...but none-the-less it has caused stress for different people in different ways.

I think highly of all you guys, so I'm not trying to step on any toes...but bottom line...if I REALLY don't feel like doing something for whatever reason...I usually don't do it very well, and I certainly don't enjoy it.

Maybe if Gus can have some time away, he can come back fresh and rested and geared up for another run... Just an idea :)

Your knowledge, patience and wisdom are appreciated by all of us.

Think of people like me who knows practically nothing, waiting all the time for people like you to hang around and tell us the good stuff.
 
Guys, thanks let's not get into a cheerleading session here.
I need to take a couple of days and think about what is going on and how I am handling things. No matter what happens two things are true.

1. Jerry Hossum is a respected friend as a maker and a person, I hope our relationship will grow and am pretty sure it will.

2. I will support these forums and Custom Knives in general.

Tex, I can see how you could have read my post in the "weekend thread" and saw trouble brewing. I tossed alittle flak at Blues, Max, and Kit that looks kinda ugly. However, I knew that Blues would recognize the names there and see it as playful ribbing.... which is exactly what it was.

My mistake was not fully realizing that thousands of others in here could possibly read those posts and construe that there were troublemaking hellions at large in this excellent forum. Not only Gus, but plenty of other outstanding individuals who give and receive the great benefits this forum has to offer. Any simple misunderstandings there could have generated actual trouble, and for that I apologize to any and all who saw need for concern.

I have always felt that this forum would be one of the easiest to moderate. Foolish me. I see that it is just as difficult a task in here as anywhere, and I'll restrain myself from adding to the level of difficulty when I post.

Hey Gus steal a few days come down and we will go fill up a boat or two with some big old salt water fish. Notice I said boat not ice chest. They don't make ice chest that big. A day or two out on the water makes everything better.

Blues you hang in there with us crazy folks we need you.

Whatever you decide Gus I'll back you up. Any man willing to give as much as you and all the other moderators do should be backed by all of us.

Time for all of us to go back to knife talk and stop all the trouble making.

Gus has told me that he doesn't want all this fanfare regarding the current situation, and frankly, continuation of this isn't going to help get him back faster so I'm closing this.

In closing, however, let me say that nobody wants Gus to come back more than I do.
