Gussied up ZT 0308 with Skiff bearings

I've come to appreciate the ZT 0308 for its excellent design, heavy-duty capabilities and ease of disassembly. It's kind of the basic thrust of ZT knives. But I have three and wanted to gussy up one.

So I put a hand-finished maple scale on my ZT 0308BLKTS KVT. A craftsman in Finland (Sechnikovworkshop) makes these scales from solid maple. They are cut by CNC, but polished, painted and oiled by hand. I also replaced the standard bearings with Skiff ceramic bearings and added a bronze-colored, deep-carry pocket clip. The knife comes apart easily. You just need a 1/2 inch open-end wrench for the pivot, T8 screws for the scales and T6 for the pocket clip. The new bearings make the knife snappier. It flies open and falls shut most of the time.

If you have some ZT mods, I'd love to see them.

Very nice job on the "gussy" up!

My only modded ZT is an 0630 - with custom CF scales and a Monster Disk. It's an absolute unit on the weight scale, but I love it.

Edit...forgot I did some scale / thumb disc replacements on an 0640.

OP and obviously Stringjam7 :), wow! That is gorgeous. Those scales are way cool!

Just two ZT's moded here.

Scale swaparini and full breakdown with maintenance. It already had the Lynch and the PG Monster Disk.

Just skiffs, and breakdown tune up with sharpening on a 0452 of my sons. Oh, and a milled titanium clip swap that I failed to photograph.

Edit again...more Monster Disks. I really don't like Tanto blades, but ZT somehow ended up being my exception.

You know, I've wondered if the nine lines carved in the handles of the 0620 are a tribute to a combat casualty report aka a 9-line for the military.
