This is my first post so I would like to start of by saying that this site is such a wealth of information.
That being said here is my situation. Once a week I teach a knife sharpening and care clinic at the store I work in. I cover the proper use of all of the systems that we sell and it is a lot of them ( lansky, DMT, smith, spyderco) just to name a few and a lot of homemade tricks, this time of year I get a lot of questions on how to sharpen gut hooks . The only thing I use to demo was the DMT diamond file & ceramic file but I was not happy with the results so I have been showing using different size wooden dowels wrapped with different grit wet sand paper. Finally here is the question, is there any thing better and if so what? Thanks for the help.

i use a dremel tool and a 2" diamater leather disc with white rouge on it. just make sure the disc is going in the right direction when you sharpen the edge so it doesnt grab and shred the disc or injure you.

thank you for the advice. We sell spyderco so I will order the profile and I have a dremel I will just need to get a leather wheel that fits it.
