Hi all

I tried to PM Gutsy a little while ago (twice) but it won't go to him. I really liked his presentation about his pack, 4 days supply of everything and all that. Made really good sense and I thought I would try to create something similar. Around here I have several backpacks but his seemed just the right size - not too big and not too small.

Gutsy if you see this can you help me out with exactly what your pack is, where you got it etc? Anyone else know?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Alright, according to him it is made by Protech. From what I can tell, Protech Engage or Pursuit in Dark Green is the one he had. Seems to be a be hard to track down to be honest. Here is a pic of the Engage model.

And the Pursuit.

Can't really tell which it was though to be honest.

I will PM you with the addy where I have found them for purchase.

Thanks Derek - and thanks also to Gutsy. Very cool pack. I will investigate a bit tomorrow I think.

I'm pretty sure it was that engage model. I recognize the layout of that side zipper for the handgun pocket.

gutsy, I missed the EDC talk. Got any pics of your pack?

Yeah this pack was cool, I was really into it. I'm torn between it and the Kelty Peregrine.

i'll try and get some pics up soon . the pack aint all that big but it has molle webbing all over it so i use alot of different pouches . the best is the mil-issue waist pack . it just bolts right on and can hold a small tarp and other things , i had my goretex shell in mine at the gathering but took it off for some reason .

I too would love to see a rundown of your pack gutsy. I do fear that this might spark another heated debate with my girl on weather or not I need another pack though. Ha!

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy

They are not a bad price at all. $60 where I found em.

I am trying to get an idea of the size of it. Sometimes the dimentions and cubic inches can be misleading. What packs are simarly sized?

Man this pack has got a hold on me.

Jeremy

Uh, off the top of my head I am going to say maxped falcon 2 is similar sized. This is not a large pack. Not even close to large. Specs for main compartment are 16" x 8" x 3" so not that big at all. Good for an overnighter I suppose, 3 day if you are a hard SOB, but it isn't a long pack either, so if you are tall or have a long torso this thing will probably not work too well for anything other than a daypack/overnighter in nice weather.

Well I pulled the trigger on it and I should have one Monday or Tuesday. I don't need a bugout bag since I live in my bugout location but I sure liked the idea of a "Get Home Bag" and I plan to start setting the protech up for that purpose.

Thanks everyone for the info and advice.
