WESTON - Three days passed before liquor store employees realized their $3,500 bottle of whiskey was gone.

The limited edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label bottle had been pried away from its display case and replaced with a different bottle, authorities said.

Surveillance video from Master Wine Liquor, at 4569 Weston Road, showed a man shove the bottle in his pants while a woman distracted employees, Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said.

The heist was recorded about 6 p.m. Oct. 30.

Only six bottles of the 200th Anniversary Johnnie Walker Blue Label were distributed in Florida, Concepcion said.

The thief is described as a man about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 250 pounds. During the theft, he was wearing a black-and-white striped shirt with a collar and blue jeans.

@ $3500? Who's the thief? I don't agree with either form of ripping people off.:thumbdn:

Something is only worth what people are willing to pay. If people will pay 3500 dollars, then it's not a rip off. That's capitalism.

No one is forcing anyone to buy it.

That said, I despise thieves of any kind.

The only drunks I've had in that price range included various entertainment of the opposite gender persuasion.;):D

Honestly, i've seen crazier prices in the Busse EE. People selling knives for 70-100 dollars more than everyone else is. None of it is a rip off if people are willing to pay it.

You're messing up my silly argument with reason, perception and good sense.:p;):D

Whew! I gambled on hunkering down and padding up would trick the cameras!!! :D :D

Now, my evil plan is coming to fruition!! :p

Now, Jerry, about that custom we've been talking about...............

And after Jerry saw an article like this the first time, the fighter variants were born to keep their user's bottles safe..

Check your lock box. I left you a nice fifth of Heaven Hill.

Cue Pink Panther music...

Since when does Johnny Walker Blue cost $3,500? Methinks somebody tacked an extra zero on there for dramatic effect.

It's not any old JWB - it's the 200th anniversary release, which I believe is cask strength on top of being a special bottle.

Jeez!!! Some guys will do anything to get a Busse folder into production...
