ADVANCE NOTICE.

Who's eligible? Anyone with a Beckerhead number prior to the contest.

The prize? A NIB Ka-Bar MK1 with kraton handle.

The contest? Further details to be announced, but...

At 8 p.m. Central Time, I will kick off the contest by posting here a set of questions. The answers to these questions should be fairly easy to retrieve online. However, you will have only one hour to post up correct answers before I lock the thread. One post only per contestant. At that point, if all your answers are correct, your username will go onto a piece of paper and into a hat. I or a member of my family will draw one name out.

I expect some "strategery." If you go early and divulge answers, you might make it easier for others to copy your answers and thereby decrease your odds of winning. However, you could (a) watch the clock and post just before the thread is locked, or even (b) post up incorrect answers and then edit just before the thread lock. Or you might come up with some other form of skullduggery / gamesmanship.

Whatever the case, your post at the time of the thread lock will be final.

NOTE: By posting an entry, you will be agreeing that, if you win, you will post up a future review of the MK1 with pics.

ETA: Going to lock this thread down until next Tuesday (the 24th) at 8. When it reopens, the questions will be right here in this post.

Okay, folks, it's actually 9:01 by my clock. Locking this one down.

A big thank you to Moose for covering my behind on the questions.

In a bit, I'll post up correct answers and the names that are going into the hat.

Tomorrow, I'll make up name cards, put them in a hat, and have my son draw one out.

Then, I'll post a pic of the winning name.

Okay, here's the winner selection process.

I put all the names on some large Post-Its.

Then, I folded them all the same.

P1020331.jpg

I put them in a gift bag.

P1020332.jpg

Then I pinched the top shut and shook the bag like crazy.
I had my daughter tell me when to stop shaking, and then she reached in and drew one name.

Here's your winner.

Congratulations tradewater! I need your address.
