I need to know where I can find a kriss butterfly that has both edges of the blade sharpened. Everywhere I look has ones with only one edge sharpened. I have seen some with both but I cannot remember where. Your help would be much appreciated. E-mail me at SwimGoddess15@aol.com

Welcome to the forum. It's good to see females taking interest in Balis. As for a sharp kriss, if you haven't found a current production one your best bet would be having a custom made or buying one from an auction. Both of those options are pricy however for a 15 year-old. So save your nickels or just get a kick-*ass Benchmade. You won't be disapointed.;)
 
Thanks for your help. I will try to find one around here but Chattanooga, TN is not a knife kinda place, if you know what I mean. My family is not too willing to help out in the money area because they disapprove of my interest in weapons but I can get some on my own. Thanks again.
 
Forget about finding one where you are. Order from one of the many online retailers. You can get a BM42 for like 110. If you can't have it sent to your school (I don't know if it's a boarding school or not) open a PO box in town.:)
 
a double-edged kris would probably cost you a pretty penny (a good one at least)
word on the street is that benchmade is considering doing a kris, which would be very cool.

your best bet in terms of kris balis is looking for a FHM (Filipino Hand Made).

Collectable kris blades start at $500 and just go from there.

Noted balisong authority, Professor Roland Phlip, the director of the prestigious International Institute for Advanced Balisong Studies, recently gave a nice lecture on kris blades. You can read the transcript by clicking here.

Some of the Filipino Handmade balisongs have acceptible kris blades in the under $100 range. I'd shy away from the Charming China Cheapie chrome-plated cast blades that seem to flood the auctions. Pure junk.
