I was working earlier and got a call to go over the my neighbor's creek bank to "see something". When I got there, this is what they wanted to show me. They say we have another week or two, so I am heading to get my fishing license tonight :) Looking at the size of these guys in the creek, and remembering how the F2 came to be, I'm sort of hoping somebody might screw up a KE Bushie or a Bushcrafter blank the same way and a larger F2 born :D

I'll be doing a different kind of work tomorrow, I am seeing some ponassed steel head in the near future :)

Ya might wanna find some cedar wood .. for the cooking part. :)

That's a steelhead. Like a salmon, they travel up rivers, creeks, and sometimes tiny streams to spawn. Unlike salmon, they don't die afterwards and they spawn now instead of in the fall.

I fillet mine. After that I usually sprinkle them with lemon and old bay seasoning, rub them with olive oil and broil them for about 15 minutes.

Yep. I know of several ways I love fish of this type. Going to poness one soon for an article I am going to write.

Funny part is this one was brought to me just a few minutes ago to fillet. The closest thing I have to a fillet knife lol, is my Woodsman

This should prove interesting :)

my creek catches are rainbow and fit in my backpacking pan for frying up. I wouldn't know what to do with something that size.

goodness gracious. awesome. thanks for the pic!

That's what I thought when I saw it :)

That'll straighten out a line!!!

Michael

I can just imagine, and hope to find out soon :D

Most of mine have been too, this will definitely be a change of pace for me :)

I can't say what others do, and I think these fish being so large is why the technique of ponassing came to exist, and I reeeeally want to poness a couple very soon.

But, I can show you what I did with this one a few minutes ago :D Man I love my Woodsman, it just may have to go on the pyre with me :)
