Looking for some insights on the 2 different thickness Game Wardens. If anyone has both thicknesses and is willing to share their little comparison, please share your views on which is better and why.

Size? Feel? Handle Width? Weight? Cutting edge? Strength?
Which one would you recommend, .14" or .17"?

Thanks :)

I have had both but really like the .17. A bit more heft to the knife and it just feels better to me. Of course the snake sakin is nice too as is the LE finish - but all in all my Tan Warden is my preference

I had one of each in my mitts for a while. One thing that I really appreciated was that the scales on the thicker model were thinned down a bit to make up for the thicker steel, making the handle sizes nearly identical.

The handles are soooo comfortable. :D

Take this for what it is because I have only used the thinner LE model. But I like the thinner model better for this size knife. It will be a better cutter for most applications of this size knife and it is lighter. How much stronger will the thicker steel be? I just don't know if a knife this size will ever be able to produce the torque to take advantage of the thicker steel.

Just got my Satin/snake! This knife is perfect for me. The handle is smoothed out with just the right amount of ridges. The blade is sharp and balanced with the handle. I can tell I will be doing all kinds of hunting chores with this thing.
If you dont have one, find one.

I have both, there great. I prefer the snakeskin LE GW over the tan only because it feels lighter in weight. Like a clean cutting detail knife (thinner-skinner) and the scales have a really cool design. Never give up mine, it goes everywhere its allowed.
Just love it! I may pick up another soon.

Guys, thanks for the feedback!

Any additional insights or thoughts on the 2 thickness would be great to hear.

NO one else is willing to give some expert opinions.....

As quickly as these have gone, I would suspect that there are more people with both sizes. Maybe they are lost in a safe somewhere..... :D

I just got the .17, never had the .14, but i wouldn't want it any thinner than this -- i do tend to like thick blades, though -- i like the weight, the security of the extra girth -- if they made it in .25, i'd have that instead... but i can see why some people like the way a thin knife cuts... i guess it's just different, a personal preference -- i don't see a small knife like this in INFI breaking unless you pry up a man-hole cover or something.
