Guys,

This is one of my latest handfinished kit knives. This is the GX6 model which was designed by Darrel Ralph for KnifeKits.com as most of you know by now.

Darrell himself sent me this handle material, and at first I couldn't imagine it looking good. I'm a believer now! I needed to thin out the scales about an 1/8" and you can only imagine the wonderful smell this stuff emits... :barf: ;)

600 grit on the bolsters and outside profile edges.
Polished scales
Heat colored SS liners and thumbstuds

I tend to angle bevel my edges, leaving them with a crisp definition. Keeping them consistent is not as easy as one might think, believe me. This one is crying out for even more embellishment, but I'm done with it for now. (I'm gettin hammered in another forum for leaving it 'plain'!! ;)) The client is quite happy!

Anyway, I thought you'd like to see what's being done these days.

Coop, that looks fantastic..and very substantial! What's the blade length??

Thanks,
RL

Other than the handle not having enough grip and your photo being terrible, I kind of like it:eek:  :p :D

Just kidding, that's a real beauty Jim!! Nothing like the smell of burning bone in the morning:barf: I'm off to the other forum to give you hell about the embellishment:p

I think my coffee has really kicked in!!!!!!

Great one...Coop. Handle looks amazing.

Keep up the good work. Don't worry about Dr. Lathe...When he learns how to make a small folder, then maybe you can take his advice.;)

Be good...JT

Great looking knife and wonderful pictures Jim..., thanks!

I forgot who coined this phrase on another forum, but it does fit this knife as well....

It's Coop-A-Licious
