Gyuto 8.66'' (spalted)

Hi!

Just finished gyuto for a customer. Spalted handel was his idea and I think it looks good.

Blade is 8,66’’, san mai with iron claddings.






Somebody will have a very sharp Christmas

Looking good! What is the wood? I was looking at a slab of spalted maple the other day but didn't think that particular piece was as nice and tight like yours so I left it on the shelf. Did you stabilise it or have someone else do it for you?

I know what you are saying. Big chunk of wood can look pretty awesome but when cut down to handle size it tends to lose that.
