H•E•S•T discontinued!??!!!

Um.... did I not get the memo? I was just on one of my pusher sites (knife dealer), and they had a notice with the H•E•S•T that it has been discontinued. Ummmm... WTH?

Geez, turn my back for a couple of days and things turn sideways. Albeit not as "sideways" as I feared.... maybe.
 
This just means I should buy a HEST soon. :p

I foresee an expensive purchase in my immediate future. :D
 
I just bought my (second) H•E•S•T. :D I have been planning on it.... just had to do it sooner than later. Actually, I had tried several times to buy it from my pusher. They never had them in stock until now.
 
From what I've read the HEST will still continue on... just down a different path and evolving along the way.

Thanks Mistwalker. I understand what you're saying, and it makes sense now that I've read through that other thread. And no panic, now i've been able to buy my second H•E•S•T. :D

BTW, I SWEAR I did look at the forum to see if there were any other threads on it.... although now I see that my thread has been moved into the forum where I PROBABLY should have looked to start with. DUH! Thank you ... to someone out there.... who put it in the right place. :o

And it is a good enough knife that if it gets made in some kinda whiz-bang steel, I might pick up a third! :D

BTW, "Licensed to Kill" is an EXCELLENT book, just getting near the end of it now.

I just don't get a lot of what I read in "that thread".

Two of my favorite knife companies evolved in similar fashion...Becker and RAT/ESEE. Both are as good now, or better, as they have ever been.

I like the HEST design, I like Robert's line of thinking, and he obviously knows how to seek out good manufacturers for his products...not like there is only one. I look forward to seeing good things to come from DPX in the future.
 
Trust me guys, DPx is gonna become a major player in the industry given a little time. Pelton knows how to think out of the box, unlike most all the standard knife companies. I'm looking forward to watching this company grow.
