H-1 blade modifications?

I'd quite like to wave a Salt knife but this whole work-hardening thing has intrigued me somewhat. Is it ok to let the steel get hot as it is not heat-treated? Would slower or faster with the Dremel be better?

Has anyone out there modified their H-1 blades at all? I would love to hear of your experiences with it.

Talk to STR, he has done wave modifications for others here, and I believe he modded one of his own Salt knives, though I don't believe he added a wave to it.

Heating H-1 makes it harder, so waving it shouldn't hurt, but would likely get difficult pretty quickly, depending on fast it hardens, I'm not sure of the actual chemistry/physics behind it.

It's possible though.

I used a file to smooth the traction ridges on the hump of my Atlantic Salt.
It does'nt seem to have affected the blade other than to make the ridges less abrasive.
