Hi everyone. I've been looking for a small fixed blade (around 3-5 inch blade) made of h-1 steel or something close to it. I know spyderco already makes an h-1 fixed blade but it's serrated and i don't really like the handle.

Before anyone says i should just get a folder I don't like folders. I plan to use this as a fishing knife and people don't seem to mind you having a visable knife when fishing. A least not where I fish.

If nobody can help me i'll probably just get something with a coating or san mai. The CS Konjo looks pretty neat. If I can find a deal on one. Yes i'm aware of the dinky, epoxied handle. Nothing some power tools can't fix.

Spyderco is the only company that uses H1 steel at this point. The only other corrosion resistant steel available is the H2O line from Benchmade, and they have serrations.

benchmade also has the dive knife in N680 which i believe is quite rust resistant, both in a fixed and folder version with no serrations.

Since you don't like the other knives with H1, check out the Spyderco Street Beat. Made of VG-10 which is pretty stainless. It is a little pricy, if you are willing to spend that much money, go for it.

Here is the Aqua salt. It is recently discontinued, so you still might be able to find one. http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=295

Two threads on the first page, where the easy answer for both the only disco'd salt model, shame its going away.

A mora in stainless might be a good idea for you too.

I'm not sure which model you're referring to, but the plain-edge Aqua Salt can still be found online, in both black or yellow handles.

>>> Wow. I have no idea how i missed that when i was on the spyderco site.

If you look at their online catalog, they list the discontinued models at the end, after the current models, so they're easy to miss.

Checking the Spyderco online catalog, they show the Aqua Salt models as being both discontinued and out of stock. That would seem to indicate that they are not available from Spyderco at this time. As mentioned, they may be available from after-market suppliers or individual owners.
