H-15 Plus

You have some very nice fixed blade hunting knives Bloefield. I bought a S-W H-15 a year or so ago; used it to skin and butcher one deer so far. Good knife with good steel, comfortable in the hand when using, but blade just about an inch too long for my taste in a whitetail knife. OH

Thanks OH, these days I use the H-15 for trail hiking etc.

Those H-15s were (are) practical knives, They, along with the 38 and 44 versions were an important part of the line back in the 1950s and 60s. Maybe Larry would be so kind as to show the REAL DEAL pilot survival knife of the EARLY 1950s. I would love to get one of those rare birds; it was a much more robust official military contract knife. These later commercial hunting knives were modeled after that one. Come on, Larry, do show us some pics?

Awwww shucks Cal,...gee whillickers and shizaaaamm, you know how bashful I am about showing my weapon... I just re-birthed the thread showing the Military version of the Schrade-Walden <H-15> Pilots knife...cos 'You asked for it'......Hoo Roo

Hope it's allright to add to my own thread. I've still got a few more Schrades kicking around.
Here is another H-15 now.

Another shot or two.
#147L's sheath needs some work. Gotta have a Sharpfinger!

edit: sorry, disregard non Schrade

You really have a nice collection - and all minty too! I'm enjoying your photo's. OH

Thanks for your kind words guys. I have more I'll share.
Tongueriver that is a beautiful knife and photo.

Trying to round em up is harder than I thought it would be.
Anyone else is welcome to show their beloved Schrades.

Here's another H-15. This is a "Schrade" not "Schrade-Walden" like the other two.
Note differences in the leather handles among other things.
