I'm surprised there is not more mention of H&B products here. Got this little beauty in a couple days ago. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. The fit and finish are top notch. Balance is a little heavy bit side, but not bad. Here are some pictures next to a Husqvarna multi purpose for reference. I'll post my impressions once I have a chance to try it out.

I have never heard of that company, what price range do their axes fall in and are they of good quality steel?

I just looked H and B up considering the fact that they cost more than a husqvarna axe, as much as a hults bruk axe, and slightly less than a gransfors bruk axe are they worth the money? They seem nice but the patterns are a bit unusual to me and I have no way of gauging the quality of the steel. I don't know if you have any experience with the gransfors bruk axes but if you do I would be really interested to see how this axe compares.

This is most similar in size to the Gransfors Scandinavian forest axe. From the reviews I read before ordering this axe they have a very good reputation quality wise. The heads of their tools carry a lifetime warranty. As far as the steel, it is a wrapped style with 1095 in the bit. I had been drooling over the H&B large camp hawk for some time, but never pulled the trigger. When these came along, I went for it, and am satisfied. Worth the money is a different story, especially when it comes to these boutique type tools. I have an old Council boy's axe that I purchased for $10. There is nothing the H&B, Gransfors, or Husquvarna can do that the Council can't. But the aesthetics, build quality, and the fact that it is hand forged from a small family business give it extra value in my mind.

Have you tested that beauty out yet?

H&B Forge makes some of the best t'hawks and axes around.
I have been searching for one of their camp hawks.
Have a GB SFA that I really like.
Just want a hawk
