H I kukri on Ebay?

I'm not sure where to post this. Sorry if I got it in the wrong place -- if it is in the wrong place, I'm sure Nasty will take care of it. What's with this item? The maker's marks (the rising or setting sun -- isn't that Sher? -- and SB are there but there is no sign of U B. Is this just something someone picked up a little further downstream or is it something else entirely?

Sounds like a HI. If its a half sun with SB then that would be Sher and most likely from 2002-2005 period.

Correct. UB did not appear on HI knives until after Yangdu returned to the US in mid-May 2005 following her month long trip back home for Uncle Bill's puja. It was a sign of both quality and an indicated respect by the kamis for their lost patron.

Ahhh, I suspected that it stood for Uncle Bill, but wasn't 100 percent. Good to hear the full story.
