Was wondering if any of you guys or galls liked to play computer games? If so, think you might be up for some online gaming?

Here is a list of games that I like to play. I'm not very good at some, but it's just for fun right?;):

Starcraft/Broodwars
Half-Life/Op-For/CounterStrike
Jedi Knight DF 2
AVP
Diablo/Diablo II
Quake III
Unreal Tournament
Descent II

Anyone interested?:D Let me know.

I played CS for awhile but haven't played since 1.5 (I refused to download "steam" and got left behind) :( I don't have it installed anymore.

That's the only one I've played on the list you proviede anyways.

Bruise, what is this "steam" thingy? I've been out of the loop to for a while. Only have the Stand alone Counter-Strike version 1.0.

What other games do you play?

Starcraft BroodWars.... heck yeah...used to play that all the time...

you want a VS. Game?

Us against the computer is my preference. But I'm up to anything right now. Hey Dave, do you have MSN Messenger or Yahoo! or ICQ? I have all three, if you want to play some games maybe we could chat about them on one of those. What you say?

Try America's Army, it's free. I think the new version 1.9 will make it top dog.

I just found it. Looks cool but the download is 604.9MB:eek::eek:

Check out Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory as well, it is a free standalone game (albeit online-only). Very quick to set up and play with no problems at all. And compared to America's Army, it is NOT a taxpayer-supported game that competes against real commercial games

My favorite game is to try and get my computer to do what I want it to.

I do a fair amount of gaming, some online, but mostly vs. the computer. Tend to go for the epic RPG's like Fallout, Baldur's Gate series, and Morrowind. Looking forward to one thats supposed to come out next week called "Lionheart". It's an alternative history RPG set in the 1500's where you are a descendent of Richard the Lionhearted. Sounds interesting and the guys who made it have a great track record. Many historical figures of the time are included in the game like Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, and Cervantes.

Spend a lot of time on RPGs such as MOrrowind and Diablo 2. Play First person shooters too, but need to upgrade my computer to be able to do that again(used to use computer at old job after hours). BUt plan on doing tht in next month anyways(one of customers has end of fiscal year Spet. 30th and planning a big lan party for IT people there, plus some from at least one other local company and some of my coworkers)

I play Counterstrike on a regular basis. Usually stick to the Chicago, 24/7 and Alliance 20- and 32-player servers.

If you ever meet BinDrinkinFromTheBong[CAN], you will be dead.:p

Forget Counterstrike. Try Day of Defeat (free half-life mod) and you'll never go back. It's a first person shooter set in WWII. Play either Allies (British or U.S.) or Axis (Germans), work in a team and use more than a dozen authentically-modelled weapons to capture territory or fulfill your objectives. Excellent voice acting, excellent models, tremendous replay value, tremendous gameplay value, incredible atmosphere and map details. All FREE. The game rates a 9.5/10 in its current version 1.0.

unfortunately, I don't have any of the above games.

But, there is a very nice freeware game called armagetron available for PC, Mac, Linux, etc. which is like the old Tron light-cycle game for those who remember it, except with much better graphics:

http://armagetron.sourceforge.net/

and it can be played online too

This cat is on a dialup connection. By the time I see you approaching from off in the distance as a small blip, you broadband bastards will have strafed me and passed by... :(

Hey, sounds like the Busse Online Gaming thread I started a week or so ago. I'm definately up for some StarCraft--Mschwoeb and I have been playing it pretty regularly every night. :)

Name your time and place and I'll see if I can show. :)

Saturday night sound good? We might be able to round up a big ol' game if there's enough interest.

I also wouldn't mind helping start a HI Chat channel on IRC similar to the one we've got running for Busse folks if there's interest. Would make it a little easier to get games going if there was a chat. :)

Come to think of it, if anyone wants to try a little StarCraft action in the next hour or so, I'll be waiting on Battlenet's USWest gateway in channel Busse (it's just what I'm used to). Get on and /join Busse and we'll organize some quick game. :)

Zal, I don't know anything about IRC but it's about 11:40 here and am feeling up to a little StarCraft. Will try and find my way in now.
