Anyone seen any of Henry Parker's knives, I bought a nice file worked slip-joint from him at a show in June and like his work. He had folders on his table from $175-$450 and were all nice.

I've got one in my pocket right now. I like his work. He puts an exceptional polish on ATS34. He does his own heat treat, and my blade is 6 months old, never been sharpened and still shaves hair. I've got a small (3") warncliffe. It's a great utility knife. Good for fruit, coupons, removing insulation from wire, etc. I like the way he contours the handle and bolster together to form a smooth hand filling package in a 3 3/4 inch handle. Virtually perfect knife. It's the same size a small sebenza but costs less, is a hell of a lot prettier, smoother action and a more ergonomic design.

I bought a small stag trapper about 4 months ago, and I carry it every day in a buffalo slipsheath I made for it. It's not only a great little knife, it's also a great looking knife with the flat-polished stag handles. Also, I don't see too many hollow ground slipjoints. Henry's grinds are spot on, fit and finish are damned near perfect, his springs strong and lockup is solid. It's my daily pocket knife now, and probably will be for along time.

I also have a damascus liner lock that is extremely well built, fit and finish as good as the best. Henry also is a member of the Knife Group Association and you can see some of his work on my web site. Just go to the KGA member page and click on his name. I highly recommend his knives.

Thanks for the additional link Ray -- hard to find examples of Henry's work. BTW, that's a pretty impressive stable you've got under the KGA umbrella. Saw some pieces I'm gonna have to think about :D

Thanks, MtMike
We just started getting a group together of knife makers and interested persons from around this area. There are about 40+ members on the list so far and only the ones that have anything to sell are on the web site. We don't care if you have to read the instructions on how to apply the handles of a kit knife you bought, if you like knives, then you are welcome. I try to send out a little newletter with the last meeting events and when the next meeting will be and where. We have been doing something like the AKA in that we try to move around and visit the knife makers shop and see how they operate. Hopefully, some day we will some all day events.

You've got my interest peaked --I'll send you an email with my snail mail addee
Mike
