  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how H1 compares with other common steels such 420HC. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

H1 in PE is still a quality steel. I have a two Salts and they will stand up to daily chores and sharpen easily when needed. The OCD cardboard crowd will not be happy, but it is still one of my favorite steels. I took my Salt on a two week trip to San Francisco. Went boating, used it for some minor food prep. Had a wedding to go to and forgot my belt for my suit and the only one I could find there was way too long and used the Salt to trim and make new holes. After the wedding I help my brother and sister-in-law open their presents with the Salt. On the way back to LA we ran over some plastic sheeting that got tied up under the car. Used the Salt to cut it away. I basically used it how I need a knife to perform and it passed without issues. When I got home....took minutes to touch up. Best part is I did not think about rust, pitting or staining....I just used it.
