So as the title suggests, I'm trying to decide between a H2O Griptilian, possibly with the different scales, and a Ritter Grip. So does anybody have experience with both of them? I am going to be using it mainly for EDC, possibly IWB, in addition to camping, and a little bit while sailing, although i already have a spyderco salt that I use for boating. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

If you have a salt, get the Ritter. The Ritter will hold its edge longer and also has a better blade shape in my opinion.

+1, I'd only go for the H20 if you didn't have a salt or it would be a dedicated salt water fishing/boating/swimming knife

is benchmade still using regular stainless for liners and fittings? because if they are you may as well go for the ritter.

Yep, Benchmade uses 420J for the liners. No big deal in practice though, as 420J is VERY rust-resistant. I use mine as a saltwater fishing knife and its been rinsed in saltwater countless times and not a spot of rust is showing.

I got the H20 because i wanted something with better edge retention than Spydercos H1. Benchmades X15 has not disappointed me. Its takes a scary sharp edge and holds it for a relatively long time.

The ergonomics are great and the blade-shape very useful for everyday cutting tasks. I dont really think you can go wrong with either. Get the one which looks appeals to you and youll be happy with it.

I voted for the Ritter. Great design, edge is super easy to maintain and looks good with stonewashed blade.

How are the omega springs holding up to salt water?

I love the red on your grip! What I wouldn't give for a plain edge on it... D:

No problems whatsoever. Ill post a thread if they break due to rust. Sometimes, when i remember, i give the knife a rinse in freshwater.

For anyone who knows, hows the H2O steel v/s say BM's 154CM in terms of edge holding?

I find the 154CM a little bit better than X15.

The combo edge is very effective for everyday cutting tasks and even more so when cleaning fish. They cut straight through a fish's spine and fins. You can get the 154CM version with the orange handle in plain edge configuration.
