H62

Anyone on here have an H62 model Sebenza? If so, any pics?

Thanks,

WJL <><

Are you referring to the handmade sebenza that's in Chris and Anne Reeve's collection? If so, the "H" stands for "handmade" (as opposed to "P" for production, which is on sebenzas that came after the handmade series). The "62" denotes serial # 62 of the handmade series. I know that I've seen images posted of "H" sebenzas. A good forum search should yield what you're looking for.

Here's an example of a "P" sebenza -- just a babe compared to the sebenza series for which you're looking.

H62...I'm not have, but a P62.
BTW:I know that I've seen images of sebenza P279

and my friend's seb is numbered P275,the Date is 1994-08-10.
The question is, why the P279’s date is earlier than the P2's？
Maybe some card re-issued, isn't it?

At last...every one send your paper's images here, Please！

Both the large P279 and the small P2 are mine. CRK introduced the large model well before they introduced the small model.

Wow. I didn't know the unique graphic Sebenzas went back as far as '92! And I also didn't realize the "H" was for Handmade and the "P" was for Production.

How rare are large Classic '93 Sebenza's like the one posted by fooj?

Thanks,

Fooj, Nice knives! I haven't seen a small numbered "P" before, I don't think it was long after that before they dropped the numbering from the knives.

Here is my '93 large Classic Sebenza. It was also made in October but it doesn't have a number. I'll get some better pics up this weekend.

I see, Thanks!
My friend's seb is numbered P275, the Date is 1994-08-10.
It's late to yours P279 , why?
I've seen images of sebenza P138, the date is July 20, 1992.
May I thought that both of the large "P" with number is made at '92?
And some paper is re-issued later...
Somebody help me...

Hmmm . . . very good question! I don't understand the dates either. Are the knives you mention small or large?

I would surmise that the process sequence is as follow:
 1. serial number engraving
 2. finishing (bead blast, decoration, or other)
 3. making the "born on" card
If that's true, finishing processes may take widely varying times, and thus there's a good chance that serial number sequence doesn't follow card date sequence.

(Picture borrowed from somewhere else, don't the owner, if it fortunately is yours, thanks for letting me use it!)

My freind's question:
1.Papers of P275 & P297 have a Same Date but Different Handwriting, Why?
2.Why P275 & P297 have a Same Date but P279 is early?

BTW: ALL ON SEND YOUR PAPER WHICH HAVE A "P SEB":D

Ahhh . . . now I understand. These are ALL decorated (P279 was the 1st decorated sebenza I purchased). Here's my guess: These knives were all made, serialized, and in their undecorated state relatively close together, and CRK probably pulled them for decoration inventory, where they waited for Chris to have the time to decorate. The cards are filled out when the knives are fully finished. Chris finished decorating them in the order of the dates stated, not in order of when they were made in the rough and serialized.

Now for the handwriting -- the actual information on each knife is written up by various CRK personnel (It's logical that since this is a production shop, that Chris and Anne don't do everything in the process themselves, right?).

Would be interesting to know if I've got all that right.
