Ha, ha-florida justice-dad style!

In this case, when the man had been stalking the girl and trying to get her into his car and so forth, is obvious and I'm glad the girl's family protected her.

But think about this: "Police were not sure what his plans for the girl might have been, but they found a knife, duct tape, and pillows in the back of his station wagon."

Looks like maybe a hank of some sort of electrical wire too.

Question: how many of you have a knife, some duct tape, and maybe a hank of elecrical wire in your car? Is that necessarily suspecious?

Yeah, that kinda irritated me about them basing it just on that, but I still like that they gave him sompin to think about.

He had been trying to lure girls from that general vicinity for a few weeks prior, and he lived about 2 hours away, and was in the area for no apparent reason.

Several girls came forward ID'ing the guy after he was picked up.

I don't think he was commenting at all as to the guilt or innocence of this guy, just noting that many of us (probably most of us here) have that assortment of stuff in our cars. Simply having those things is not as damning as the story tries to make it sound.

I just came back from visiting my mother, about 130 miles away. On this trip
I had a Kahr 9mm pistol and two full extra magazines, a 12 gauge Benelli M 90 shotgun with about 25 rounds of various sizes of buckshot, a .30-06 Winchester Model 70 ("sniper" rifle?) with 30 rounds of 150 grain bronze point, a Busse Battle Mistress, a Busse Active Duty, a Bladerigger Arch Angel II, a 4 inch Cold Steel clip point voyager, a Spyderco Native, a Case Sodbuster, two large size contractor grade garbage bags, duct tape, and a three cell Maglight. This time of year in Alabama, you never know when a deer hunting opportunity might come your way, plus when I go to the country I like to take some toys.

The items found in the guy's car, absent the clearly criminal intent inherent in his conduct, would not or should not be alone grounds for suspicion. His behaviors, however, clearly were.

NOT having those things, and a few more besides (as MikeH mentioned) could be seen as irresponsible -- by us anyway :D

We had a discussion about camera/cellphones today and one of the group mentioned cases in his state where kids had used these cameras to photo would be abductors and their license plates resulting in arrests !!

They also found 2 pillow cases in the trunk as well as the items mentioned. Based on that I would have suspected him as well. His actions alone are enough to warrant an ass-whoopin'. I especially like this quote,

"It's ridiculous, it's sick. I'm glad I kicked his ass, you know? I wish I would have done it a whole lot more," Puig added.
I applaud their actions.
