Well just received my bushtool. I took it out and did some light cutting, battoning, and feather sticks in the back yard with my son. I must say it performs much better than I thought it would when I Unboxed it. All and all I am very pleased, so pleased I passed my tried and true ESEE 6 down to my 14 year old. If you get the chance don't just hold it and judge it, cut something.

Just ordered one today myself. Curious how it will stack up against the SK GSO 5.1 I had for a while. By chance would you know if the Bushtool is heavier than a GSO 5.1?

It's hefty for sure, I say just a little more forward heavy. If I could change one thing i would have it just a tab thinner or run the Scandi grind a little higher on the blade that would make it a better slicer. I can imagine you will like it though.

Ok thanks...that helps a lot! Forward heavy is preferable for what I like to do which is chop and dice bushy stuff...much less for slicing.

I've been considering the Bushtool as well. How does the handle feel? I have L-XL hands and feel it might be a little too small?

Yes it would probably feel too small in your hands. I have large hands but prefer this handle actually. The trapper has a bigger handle but it's not a bush tool although similar. You could always wrap handle. I really love the feel of this knife. Steven hand grinds them to feel comfortable in hand and it's not symmetrical
